Arte Para Todos (Art for
All)
2004 - Tegucigalpa, Honduras
Organized by United Nations
Honduras and
Dona Aguas Ocanã Maduro, the First Lady of Honduras
This event took place in
July 2004, with over 50 international and Honduran artists, both
painters and sculptors, creating artworks in public places all over the
city of Tegucigalpa in Honduras.
Arte Para Todos was the brainchild of UN DP coordinator for Honduras,
Mr. Peter Claesson. The theme for the event was to highlight, through
art, any of the 8 objectives set out in the United Nations delineated
Millennium Development Goals.
I was privileged to be able to place my sculpture in the Honduran
United Nations park itself: El Picacho, a beautiful mountain park
overlooking the city of Tegucigalpa.
It is a permanent installation - an interactive sculpture called
"Children = Future" (children equals future), some 15 x 27 metres in
dimensions, consisting of over 200 colorful blocks featuring children's
footprints and a variety of designs, ranging from comic to esoteric.
Below is a
composite showing several views of the finished sculpture.

The fabulous concrete stains were generously donated by The Stamp Store
for this project.
