Commission me today and I'll be on my way as soon as we have worked out a mutually agreed date for the first sitting! For Working methods, click here. The price I will quote you includes original artwork, finished lifesize bronze. Does not include travel expenses (which may be minimal depending on where I am), the base of the sculpture (can be slate, marble, wood, or bronze to suit the sculpture) or costs of shipping the bronze to you when cast. In addition to the bronze, you may also decide to purchase the original clay fired into terra cotta. (See example of a terra cotta bust here) I find that many people have what the French call "déformation professionelle" (which doesn't really translate into English at all but conveys the idea that a person's viewpoint is coloured by their professional experience. It means a chiropractor has a tendency to look at people's postures, a house painter to look at cracks or peels wherever he goes, etc). Wherever I go around the world, there are faces, and the longer I look at any one of them - old or young, I see exciting forms and shape, whether it's John Travolta or the man or woman in the street. Old houses around the world are graced by sculptures of our forefathers created by sculptors in the past. I feel strongly that people today should continue to commission sculpture portraits so enduring records are kept for yet future generations. One of my "goals" in life is to pull this particular form of the art from its dusty old wraps and give it a contemporary feel, doing my bit to raise it back into the awareness of our current culture, just as "Riverdance" propelled traditional Irish music and Irish dance back into the limelight. Click on any thumbnail or group of thumbnails below to see a larger format picture and details of my working methods, etc. I'm always interested in bartering or trade - and I travel literally all over the world for commissions!!! |
